Mitra antillensis Dall, 1889 - Barbados, 50.7mm; taken in lobster trap set in ±200 meters of water. Western Atlantic distribution from North Carolina to the Lesser Antilles. Originally described as a form of Mitra swainsoni, a Panamic species.

Mitra eremitarum Röding, 1798 - Philippines, 72.2mm; an exceptional size shell. The black stain at the opening of the aperture is part of the thick dark brown periostrcum that becomes trapped under the thickened columellar. The periostracum totally obscures the shell pattern and color.
